Gorillaz replace U2 at Glastonbury

Gorillaz will make their only Uk festival appearence on June 25th due to U2 pulling out of the festival as Bono underwent back surgery last Friday.

"This is going to be Gorillaz' only U.K. festival appearance, and it will be a massive audio-visual spectacle which will really ignite the Pyramid on the Friday night, with Muse and then Stevie Wonder to follow," said festival organizer Michael Eavis.

"I'm very excited about Gorillaz' show coming here because they're so open to guests and collaborations. The alchemy of Friday's show is going to be astonishing: a perfect, contemporary way to kick off the 40th anniversary celebrations. I am so grateful for the enthusiasm of the media and the whole of the music industry for their willingness and eagerness to support us in what could have been a crisis."

Boy George - Dublin

Just home from Boy George who performed in Dublin tonight...what a waste of space and someone who is in denial of being a has-been! Dismal crowd...which wasnt to his satisfaction...so instead of embracing it...slagged off his fans and really made a show of himself. For the 50 people if even who turned up to the over 1000 capcity venue, he really should have been appreciative...instead dismissing them ( even if it was meant to be funny or not) it really wasnt. No respect for him at all! Honestly...what a wanker!

Simon & Garfunkel postpone North American Tour

So so close!

The Simon & Garfunkel tour originally scheduled for April - May is being postponed due to a vocal strain recently sustained by Art Garfunkel. In an effort to provide the highest quality performance for their audience, Paul & Art decided it would be best to move the scheduled concert dates. The dates have been rescheduled to allow for an adequate period of rest and rehabilitation, after which Art is expected to make a complete recovery.

Both Paul and Art regret any inconvenience this has caused their fans and are looking forward to seeing them at the rescheduled shows.

Simon & Garfunkel to perform today at the New Orleans Jazz Festival

The legendary Simon & Garfunkel are set to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival today at 5pm for a tour hour set of their all time classics! With a great line up throughout the festival including Van the Man, Lionel Richie, Aretha Franklin and Pearl Jam, Simon & Garfunkel are sure to please! If money wasnt an option I would have been there with bells on but ya just cant have everything! Paul is a regular at the festival and he said at the announcement of them playing that he was looking forward to performing with Art. This is the start of a mini tour which they are undertaking together and start on April 29th in Vancouver. No European dates announced yet...but fingers crossed that they will get over this side of the pond after their brilliant performance in the RDS back in July 2004. Good times!

LCD Soundsystem Cancelled! Electric Picnic will be your next chance to see them!

We regret to announce that it has not been possible to schedule replacement dates for the two LCD Soundsystem shows due to have taken place at Tripod this week. This is due to a massively busy international schedule LCD Soundsystem have in the coming months being made even tighter by the events of the past week.

It had been hoped that they could have been fitted in between their shows at Glastonbury on 26th June and Roskilde festival in Denmark the following weekend, but this has not proved feasible due to the sheer volume of equipment LCD Soundsystem on bringing on their current tour.

LCD Soundsystem are extremely disappointed not to be able to make this work, frontman James Murphy commenting “we’re really bummed as Dublin has always been a special place and everyone was totally looking forward to playing there”. LCD Soundsystem’s next trip to Ireland will now be for the Electric Picnic festival in September.

Refunds for both Tripod shows are available at point of purchase.
