Monotonix Madness

So Friday started off fine! Weather wasnt as bad as it is today or as cold as it was yesterday and I was looking forward to going to see Kasabian in The O2! Overall it was a good gig with a great ending ( being filmed for DVD? We thought so! )

So after the long walk as ever from The O2 into town (LUAS opening soon) decided to head up to Crawdaddy to see Monotonix! I had heard many stories and myths so I had to check it out for myself! As they set up their equiptment in the middle of the floor I knew it was going to be complete chaos! As the three Tel Aviv natives litterally jumped into the crowd it was time to step back and let the more hardcore headbangers do their thing along with the band.

Scantily clad, broken glass, beer poured everywhere, sweat dripping and spraying all over the place, lead singer jumping off the balconey and climbing up the walls litterally! Phew...was it good? There was so much going on and it was so mad that I dont remember any of the songs! Ah well

Cat Stevens Live in Dublin

Cat Stevens or as he is known now a days Yusuf Islam returned to the stage on Sunday after 33 years and for the first time in Ireland. What else can I say that everyone else havnt already! It was the first time I have ever been at a gig where I thought there was going to be an all out riot. So my jacket was on just to get out of there asap just incase something disasterous was to unfold...with the crowd that is, because what was happening on stage was already a disaster. Whoever said to the man himself, "Cat/Yusuf, you have nailed it! This show is going to blow them away!" should be in the same Q as the unemployed to collect their dole! The show started off great with what promised to be a great night! But as is well documented now, it started to go a little wild and dazed everyone for the wrong reasons. Cat himself realised this as he seemed to awkwardly apoligise for what had unfolded but continued to get deeper into our cuts (I tried to do something there with The First Cut is the Deepest but that didnt really work) as he continued to end his show with new material! Luckily for his fans in the UK he has time to evaluate the show and change it because if what happened in Dublin happens again then the 33 year wait wasnt long enough! Check out the video below...
